What is Orthotics and what services can we provide?

Orthotics is the area of healthcare dealing with the bio-mechanics of
orthopaedics.
We provide Bio-mechanical solutions for adults and children with a wide
range of medical conditions and sports injuries. We aim to keep the
body functioning with the use of bio-mechanical devices such as
supports and braces.
These devices support or correct musculoskeletal deformities and improve mobility.

Orthoses can decrease pain and increase stability in an unstable joint, along with preventing potential progression or development of a deformity. Improved quality of life often results from orthotic intervention. We will assess your needs, diagnose the problem and treat you by prescribing the most suitable device to meet your requirements.

Our service includes: assessment, design and supply of the following orthotic devices:

•       Supportive spinal and hip braces.
•       Sports injury bio-orthotics including knee supports,  tennis/golfer's
          elbow supports.
•       Splints to patients who because of muscle weakness  or deformity
have disabling conditions of the limbs or  spine; leg or ankle
          splints or callipers.
•      Corrective foot orthotics - insoles

Patients needing orthoses may have been born with a condition which needs long term support or the condition may have developed at a later stage in life. This may be due to an accident or the after effect of an operation. The Orthotist will design and oversee the manufacture of an orthosis specifically for each patient. We specialise in spinal supports and braces for patients with a variety of spinal conditions.
Patients may be of any age from young children to adults.
